Blue Grass Shindig

A flag raising ceremony will kickoff our upcoming Bluegrass Shindig concert with 3 amazing bands and a jam session on August 21st from 2PM-8PM. Bring a covered dish to share and your instruments to jam, parking donation of $10 per car requested. BBQ, games, tours and music will all provide fun and funds for the Veteran Program.

An Amazing Day! The Bluegrass Shindig for Veterans and Volunteers was challenged on Sunday by a downpour for 3 hours!
But it may have been one of our best events yet, the Flag was successfully raised on our newly planted flagpole before the rain came. Our sound people, musicians, volunteers and visitors were able to move the party to the Barn to keep the music and fun going.
The efforts of everyone involved marked the commitment of the Friends of Johnston to support our Veterans and Volunteers who make this place possible, a Natural Land Preserve within our city limits offering beauty and purpose to our community.
The musicians loved playing in the Barn (now we need to raise funds to repair the old lady-1836!) we want continue to offer this amazing space for all types of art and education. They have all offered to come again for future concerts for benefits.

Field Parking fee is $10 per carload, food and beverages (including beer) will be available. Park at corner of Christian Springs Road and Linden St in Bethlehem.
